Yes, all courses must be paid upfront via the booking portal.

Yes, all our courses are Australian registered and qualify across industry standards. 

Southern Education has a fair and flexible cancellation and booking policy. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to check your eligibility or if you have any concerns you’d like to discuss.

In order for you to successfully complete your courses you will need to be physically able to complete the following actions in your courses:

HLTAID009 Provide CPR
Please note it is a requirement of this course that the practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Please note it is a requirement of this course that the practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor.

SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard Course – 2 Day Full Course
Please note it is a requirement of this course that the practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the adult manikin on the floor. It is also a requirement of the course to effectively carry out and perform swimming rescues for at least 10 metres with the casualties’ mouth and nose above the water to a point of safety. You will also be required to retrieve an object from the deepest part of the aquatic venue.

Please note that this course requires a HLTAID011 First Aid certificate. We run First Aid courses generally a day before the full lifeguard course. If you are interested in completing both courses, you will be required to enroll into both courses separately.  

SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard Course – Re-Accreditation (Update)

This course is an update for the skills in the 2 Day Pool Lifeguard Course and the CPR Course.

Please note that you will be required to provide a HLTAID011 First Aid and evidence of either your previous pool lifeguard re-accreditation certificate or a Full Pool Lifeguard Certificate in order to complete this course. 

SISSS00132 Swimming and Water Safety Teacher Course

Please note that completing water rescues is a requirement, which includes performing at least 10 metres of towing a casualty.

For this course, you are also required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of in water training at your nominated facility.

As explained in your student instructions, you are required to complete all theory work 24 hours before entering the classroom for your practical assessment session. Southern Education will contact participants at risk of not completing their course work 72 hours prior to the course date to ensure that this work is fully completed.
